The warm southern days are coming to a close, and it’s time for some delicious fall brews.

With cool air, and longer nights, Fall is approaching! Fall is the perfect time to enjoy malt-heavy beverages, stouts, and Oktoberfest brews. The colder weather calls for plenty of pumpkin and cinnamon! But, with the summers lasting longer in the south, there is still some time to slowly ease into Fall. At Southern Eagle Distributing, we created our list of top beers to ease into fall with. These are the perfect beers for football games, and outdoor actives.

Red Hare Brewing – Hasenpfeffer Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest Beer is the quintessential beer to ease into fall with. Red Hare Brewing’s Hasenpfeffer Oktoberfest is brewed according to tradition with classic ingredients from Germany. It has toasty, caramelized malt notes, and a nutty flavor that is a great transition to hearty winter ales.

Hi-Wire Brewing – Zirkusfest

This traditional Märzen by Hi-Wire Brewing boasts all the flavors you would want in a rich Oktoberfest lager without the heavy finish. It has a slight honey and breadiness aroma, with a crisp finish.

Devils Backbone – O’Fest

Inspired by old school Oktoberfest bier, O’Fest will make you want to hoist a stein at your local bier hall and say “Prost!” It tastes like caramel and toasted dark bread thanks to the traditional blend of malts and hops. Available in Kegs, Barrels, and 6 Packs, this is perfect for your next fall party.

Goose Island – Fest Bier

A delicious beer for those chilly southern nights. This light-bodied German lager is clean and crisp with a fine noble hop character and mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops. Enjoy this with a pretzel, and some schnitzel!

Elysian Brewing – Elysian Punkuccino

Elysian is known for their classic styles, and innovation to create unique flavors. This is a pumpkin ale with the attitude of a world-weary barista, Punkuccino packs a short shot of Stumptown coffee toddy in your pint with a shake of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Aviator Brewing – Pumpkinbeast

Brewed in North Carolina, this is their seasonal pumpkin beer. It is a fine ale made with dark malts and blended with fall spices. The pumpkin is subtle, and complements the backend of the beer taste. We suggest pairing it with Mexican and Jalapeño Jack Cheese.

New Belgium – Atomic Pumpkin

This is not your typical pumpkin beer! Atomic Pumpkin features Habanero peppers, Saigon Cinnamon, and a hearty malt. It’s a beer with a kick, that puts the “Fun” back in Pumpkin.

Southern Tier – Warlock Imperial Stout

Warlock Imperial Stout is a dark and mysterious beer, with a large roasted malt character, a spiced pumpkin aroma, and a little carbonation. It has a smooth and velvety finish, with a hint of coffee. Warlock is brewed to enchant your palate on its own & also to counterpoint Southern Tiers Imperial Ale, Pumking. We recommend it with some spicy BBQ!

Southern Tier – Pumking

Pumking is the king of pumpkin imperial ales. Made with two varieties of hops, and two malts, this beer has a pumpkin aroma and a hint of roasted peanuts. It is a medium light body, that is perfect when paired with a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.

Traveler Beer Co – Jack-O Traveler

This pumpkin Shandy balances between bright refreshment, and a seasonal spice. Jack O’Traveler is made with real pumpkins, perfect for a Shandy inspired beer. Traveler Beer even has pumpkin inspired cocktail recipes using Jack O’Traveler. We love the Buttered Pumpkin, and Apple Jack-O.
