Spring Break in the Lowcountry

It's that time of year again. Spring Break kicks off the season of warm weather, good company, and refreshing drinks.

While Florida tends to be the go-to destination for Spring Breakers, there are some gorgeous places right around the corner from us in the Lowcountry. At Southern Eagle Distributing, we love our community, and the coastal region we call home. We distribute high-quality beverages all along the coast of the Lowcountry, including more than 50 counties across South Carolina and Georgia.

Tybee Island, Georgia

Are you looking for somewhere close by, without the huge crowds? Tybee Island is about 20 minutes outside of Downtown Savannah, with long stretches of scenic beaches, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. This town has the classic coastal, rustic charm you are looking for. We recommend cracking open a crisp Pilsner from Patagonia. This refreshing beer is light, cool, and perfect for those warm beach days.

Folly Beach, South Carolina

If you are in Charleston, Folly Beach is just 15 minutes away, but feels like a whole different place. With cozy cottages and white beaches, it also has the Folly Beach Pier, which stretches 1,000 feet into the ocean.  Plus, there is great nightlife in Folly Beach, which means you can stay up late and enjoy the town. You can find live music every night, including Karaoke if your heart desires!  Keep it local by enjoying a Park Circle Pale Ale from Commonhouse Aleworks – brewed in Charleston. (Currently distributed in SC only)

If you are into golf, you will love the courses on Hilton Head Island. Located in between Charleston and Savannah, it’s the perfect spot for locals. Hilton Head also has a lot of family-friendly options, with mini golf, bay waters, and over 50 miles of bike paths. Brunswick, Georgia

Just a short drive to the beach, Brunswick has everything you love about a coastal town. It has Victorian-style houses, and a great art scene. The town is laid out in a grid, similar to Savannah, which means it is easy to explore on foot.  Plus the BBQ? The best you will find in the south! New Belgium’s Voodoo Ranger Liquid Paradise is a delicately bitter and extremely aromatic IPA. It’s an IPA that is perfect for BBQ and sunsets.

Charleston, South Carolina

Are beaches not quite your thing, but you still want that southern feel and good food? You will love Charleston. With a laid back atmosphere and some of the best dining in the country, there are endless events happening in Charleston. Enjoy fresh seafood, incredible shopping, and the famous Rainbow Road houses. If you are a history lover, Charleston is perfect for you. We love enjoying Charleston with a crisp Blue Point Shore Thing.  This easy-drinking beer has a unique tartness, with notes of citrus.
